Burst_Swords to the Skies Read online

  I did "Dark Disc" to hit it multiple times while it was surfing. It fell from the last hit. Spica did a jump attack which knocked it away.

  I jumped in and did "Final Blow" to kill it. The corpse shattered into sand that got scattered across the almost infinite looking sea of sand.

  "Those were good attacks, Spica"

  "Nah, you did better. I only helped"

  "It was a big help"

  She blushed when she heard that.

  We went to the pond, the guardian appeared.

  "Let me power your sword up"

  I gave my Royal Rapier to the guardian.

  "My, oh, my... You're sword is one power up away! May the power be with you!"

  The guardian threw it up in the air and shot it with a golden light.

  The sword was given back to me.

  "Bye"

  The guardian disappeared in a flash of light. I looked at my sword.

  It has a golden aura emitting from it. I could feel the power in my hands.

  "We did it! You could finally use it for dual wielding!"

  "Yea... Thank you very much"

  "Oh, by the way. Why do you help me? What was the benefit in it for you. You did say that you'll do anything if there was a benefit for you"

  "It was... To be with you..."

  "What?"

  "Let's go back!!!" she said as she walked quickly towards the road back to Zuryal.

  "She wanted to be with me?" I wondered.

  We went back to the hotel. We had to return home soon because the day of the sacrifice was drawing near.

  Sylus 16: Return

  "Cel!!!"

  That voice... Sora's voice...

  "If you're sleeping in the living room, so am I!"

  I'm still stuck in that sort of situation. I still have to sleep with other people in the same bed.

  These voices were spiralling in my head. I hear them in my dream, most of the time.

  "It was... to be with you..."

  Oh, that's Spica's voice. I never knew that she thought of me that way. I could only see her like a little sister, nothing more than that.

  I promised to save Sora, and I would keep it. The day of truth was drawing near. I've finished the Syress mission. I've only got one step left, get to you.

  I started to feel hot. I was starting to gain consciousness. I opened my eyes and saw Spica slowly waking up from her sleep.

  "Morning, Spica"

  "Mooor... ning..."

  "Its the twelfth day. We have two days left. We have to be home on the fourteenth day"

  "Let's go...!" she said sleepily.

  We ate breakfast at that same restaurant again. I had the same dish, which was Fried Felastaffo. Spica ordered something else, again.

  Spica's dish seemed to be mashed potatoes, some celery, some sauces and cheese rolled up inside some soft thin bread. She said that the taste was amazing.

  After eating breakfast, we packed up our stuff and checked out of the hotel. We were hoping to reach Zyryax in the evening. We would continue the journey home from Zyryax, hoping to arrive at night.

  "So the time to get from Zyryax to the village is around five hours, right?"

  "Yea, the time taken for the journey from the village back home is around an hour and a half, I think"

  We reached Zyryax that evening. We checked into the Inn we that we last stayed in and slept there for the night. Many people were travelling because of the sacrificing event.

  We had breakfast then set off to the village. We got a ride there because we hopped on a carriage to take us there. The time taken was shortened by an hour.

  We reached the village in the evening. I wished that we could ride there but they don't enter these paths. A ride to town would take longer too. We walked back home from the village. The village was near empty.

  When we reached home, Spica jumped into bed and said "Home Sweet Home! Man, I'm exhausted!!!".

  "We had to go to castle town tomorrow. Our exhaustion won't stop for now" I said.

  "Weeehh!!! (Crying sound effect)"

  Spica was rolling on her bed. She must've been tired of travelling long distances.

  We had our final sleep at home that night. The event was one day away. I couldn't wait to get my revenge on Arsceil!

  Sylus 17: Town

  "Save me!"

  I heard a voice in my dream. It was Sora's voice but it wasn't a line that she ever said to me before.

  "Help me! Cel!"

  Was it my imagination? Or was it real? Could it be?

  I saw Sora.

  "Cel!!!"

  An arm came and grabbed her. She got pulled away.

  "Gahh!!" I was woke up from a nightmare. I was startled. My heart was beating fast.

  I also startled Spica. She got so startled that she fell off the bed.

  "The heck?!"

  "Sorry. It was a nightmare..."

  "You surprised me you know!"

  "Yea, sorry"

  "Anyway... Let's get ready to go to the castle town. Imma take a bath" she said as she took a towel and walked into the bathroom.

  "What was that? Whatever, tomorrow is the event. I gotta think of a plan" I thought.

  "There must be a ton of people there..." I thought.

  "Cel!" said Spica when she finished taking her bath.

  "Go in" she said rocking her head towards the direction of the bathroom.

  I got up and took a towel. I took a bath.

  After taking the bath, I got dressed up. I wore the winter jacket that I always wore during my stay in Ayrus. I hadn't even wore my old jacket.

  We left the house at noon, we headed to town to eat breakfast and to get a ride to the castle town. I accidentally left my old jacket at home...

  In town, we went to the restaurant that I went to during my first week in Ayrus. I ordered the Potato Slices while Spica ordered Bearrette Wings.

  It tasted quite good. It potato was soft and moist. Just without the... You know...

  After lunch, we paid for the food and left the restaurant. We also bought take aways for breakfast on the next day. We went to the carriage center to get a ride to the castle.

  "60 please"

  "Here"

  "Hop in!"

  We hopped inside the carriage. It was quite fast for a horse. Most horses were relaxed.

  We eventually arrived in the castle town.

  "Thank you" I said thanking the coachman. He nodded his head.

  We went to check in at a hotel. We were quite lucky as there were only 6 rooms left. If we arrived later than this, we might not have gotten a room.

  We got inside our room, it was a cheaper room. We got this room because all the other more expensive rooms were occupied. It was a single bed room but we were used to it. We slept there for the night.

  Sylus 18: Revival

  "Sylus!!! Sylus!!! Sylus!!!"

  I heard people calling Sylus's name. I opened my eyes and looked outside. I saw that everyone was heading to the castle.

  The moment I saw them, my mind was fresh. I felt like I had to rush. It was like there was no time to lose.

  "Spica! Wake up!!! Let's go!!!"

  Spica woke up. She was sleepy. I was eating my breakfast.

  "Hurry and get dressed! Everyone is going to the castle!"

  "What?! Wait a second!"

  She hurried and got dressed. She then came to eat her breakfast. We ate in a rush.

  After eating, we immediately went outside. Outside, we didn't see anyone else going to the castle. "We were late!" I thought.

  We ran to the castle. It felt a morning jog with dog or something chasing after you.

  At the castle, there were a lot of people. "Just as expected" I thought. We were panting.

  "We are we heading to?" I asked.

  "The giant chamber in the castle"

  I looked around because I wanted to find another entrance to the castle's chamber. I saw that we could climb up to the second floor and use the open door there.

>   I tapped Spica's shoulder and pointed at the door. We walked to the garden. We climbed up the columns and jumped to the second floor. Spica had no problem with this. We then went through the door, we entered the castle.

  Inside, I heard the people chatting. We followed that sound to get to the main hall.

  "We're here!" said Spica.

  "Follow them I said pointing at the people walking up the stairs. We followed them up and into the chamber.

  The chamber was enormous, it should be around 20 meters tall and 40 meters in length. There was a giant mirror on the right side of the chamber. I saw a balcony above us. I looked around to see the entrance to that room. I didn't want to fly, or else I'd be seen.

  Through the crowd. I saw a ladder leading up to that balcony. We walked towards that ladder and climbed up.

  When we were there, the event started.

  "Hello, fellow Sylus cultists!"

  "Hello!!!"

  "We're here to see the revival of our goddess, Sylus!!!"

  "Yaaa!!!"

  "This girl..."

  Sora was revealed on the left side as the box that was covering got lifted.

  "Sora!" I thought.

  Sora's hands were cuffed to the wall. She wasn't moving. She was standing there quietly.

  "Will be our the vessel to our Sylus!"

  "Rahhh!!!"

  "Now we'll release Sylus from the mirror!"

  The mirror started to show dark smoke instead of a reflection.

  "Damn it" said Spica quietly.

  "Hahaha! I'm free!!! Where's my new vessel!!!"

  "Over here, Sylus the greatest!"

  "Hmm, what a fine vessel. You useless humans didn't do anything! Only Arsceil did! Get lost!!!"

  The ground shook.

  "Ahhh!!"

  Everyone ran away from the chamber. The earthquake like phenomenon stopped.

  "Now then... Let me take this life form as my vessel!!!"

  Sylus 19: Sylus

  "Nooo!!!"

  I flew down. I hit Sylus who was charging at Sora with my Royal Rapier.

  "Cel?!!!" said Sora.

  "You?!!" said Arsceil.

  "What?!!" said Sylus.

  "I won't let you!!!"

  I stood strong in front of Sylus.

  "Hmph!!! Alright, then!!! I'll take Arsceil as my vessel then!!!"

  "Its an honour to be one with you, Sylus! Take me as your vessel, please!!!"

  Sylus entered Arsceil's body.

  "Arghh!!!!! Huuuuh... I feel powerful again!!! Now you!!! Feel the wrath of Sylus!!!"

  Sylus drew out her sword. It was really her sword. And charged at me quickly.

  I blocked the attack. It was really powerful.

  "Arghhhh!!!"

  I did "Heat Blast", it pushed her back a bit.

  "Heh! Weak attacks!!! Grraahh!!!"

  I did "Sonic Boom", it resulted in our swords clashing.

  "Do you really think that you can beat?!!!"

  "I will!!! Argghhh!!!"

  "Claang*"

  I did "Rapid Fire" to attack her, she blocked a lot of hits but failed to stop some of them.

  "Hmph!!! That did nothing!!!"

  She charged at me, I did "Rapid Fire" again. The dual wielding ability made me hit more than what could usually. She jumped backwards to avoid it.

  "Hmph! Come on! Bring it on!!!"

  "She's getting on my nerves!!!" I thought.

  She came in with dark lasers shooting at me. Thankfully, I dodge all of them.

  "That was alright!!! How about this?!!"

  She did a "Hurricane" attack. I countered it with my own. We ended up clashing swords again.

  "Hah!!! Show me something!!!"

  "Shut up!!!!"

  "Cel!!! You can do it!!!"

  "Sora... Thanks for everything... I promised... That I'll save and protect you!!!" I thought.

  I flew back and prepared my ability.

  "Want me to show you something!!!"

  I did "Light vs Dark", it was a powerful attack to me. It tires me up...

  "Gahh!!! Not bad!!! How about this!!! 'Sylus's Revenge'!!!"

  "Whaa-"

  "..."

  "Cough... Cough..."

  "He he!!! How's that!!! Show me something better!!!!"

  I was tired. I knew that I had to do something. So, I did something new.

  I charged at her.

  "Burst!!!!!!!"

  "Boom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!*"

  I did the most powerful skill ever, "Burst!". Half of the whole castle collapsed. My swords got destroyed.

  Sylus was on the edge of the floor. I came up to her.

  "Amazing... Amazing... Good bye..." mumbled Sylus as she died.

  Arsceil's body disappeared. The sky's cloud have parted revealing the amazing blue sky it had. I saw the sun for very first time since I entered this world.

  "Wooooo!!!!"

  The people were cheering in happiness.

  "Cel!!!"

  Spica called me.

  "Let's help Sora!!!"

  "Yea!!!"

  We went to Sora's side. We cut the chains and cuffs off her hands.

  Sora hugged me. "Thank you!!! Cel Alt!!!" she thanked me out loud.

  I saw that Spica looked sad. I came and hugged her. "Thank you for everything, Spica" I thanked her. "You're welcome!!!"

  We went to the portal room of the castle. Portal led to Cielo. It was time to say goodbye to Ayrus, the world that I only lived in for about two weeks.

  "I guess this is goodbye. I'll be going" said Spica.

  "Bye, thank you for your help" said Sora.

  "Yea, bye"

  She turned around and started to walk away.

  I was about to leave, I stopped.

  "Spica!!!!"

  She turned around. I walked towards her.

  "Spica, come with us!!!"

  "II-I will!!!"

  We went through the portal together.

  "..."

  Through the portal.

  "Yaaa!!!!"

  The soldiers and knights cheered to see our arrival.

  "Who's that" asked a random soldier.

  "This is Spica, she helped me a lot in saving the princess"

  "Woah!!!!"

  I was home at last. Everything went well. I was happy, really happy. My heart was content with my achievement. Everything was finally over... Finally over.

  Sylus 20: Knight

  "Tweet tweet tweet"

  The birds danced around in the skies while chirping such a lovely song. It was music to my ears. It was like a sign of a peaceful time for the kingdom.

  A week has past since the Ayrus event. Everything was as peaceful as I wanted it to be.

  The castle was back to it's formal glory. The white castle was finally repaired.

  The inhabitants of the castle town started to come back. The town should be bustling again real soon.

  Everything was going well at Ayrus too. The kingdom of Cielo helped the inhabitants of Ayrus to build a kingdom. The kingdom was linked to this kingdom, so we're in a peaceful time for both worlds.

  Spica has been doing well too. She has been invited to become a permanent resident in the castle. Her job was to organize official events in the castle. She has been doing a great job.

  I headed to Spica's room to have a talk with her. I knocked on the door and asked "May I come in?", "Yes!!!" she replied.

  "Hi!"

  "Hi. How's your job?"
